Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can use the mygaelic.com site?
Everyone can use the mygaelic.com site (although you have to be over 12 in order to sign up for an account on the site). It doesn’t matter whether you are a fluent Gaelic speaker, do not speak the language, or are learning. You can access the site through three different language choices: English, Gaelic or simple Gaelic (which uses a simpler form of the language in order to help people who are learning the language). Simply click on the Language Selector at the top of the page and you can change the version of the site you are viewing.
If I change the language accidently, how do I return to my preferred language?
The language the site appears in can be changed at any time by clicking on the Language Selector tool.
If I choose to view the site in simple Gaelic, but get a little stuck with the language on the navigation, do I have to change the site back to English?
No, within the Language Selector tool at the top of the page, there is a help tool, which when you roll over, converts much of the text on the page back to English momentarily to allow you to get your bearings.
Why sign up to create an account on mygaelic.com?
Signing up to mygaelic.com allows you to create an on-line profile. Under-12s cannot register for an account.
What happens then?
Then you will be sent an email from the mygaelic.com team, which will include the following two pieces of information:
A link to click on which will take you back to the website, to validate the email address you provided
A temporary password to use on the site when prompted*

Can I sign up in Gaelic as well as English?

How do I login when I return to the site?
