Foram Lannraig a TuathForam Lannraig a Tuath
Foram Lannraig a Tuath formed in April 2006 and aim to promote Gaelic within North Lanarkshire.
Some of our activities include: holding taster workshops in Gaelic language and song; holding Gaelic Cultural Days within different areas in North Lanarkshire (Cumbernauld and Bellshill so far); establishing links with other Gaelic groups and organisations within Scotland; establishing and maintaining links with other Gaelic groups and organisations abroad;
Our greatest achievement so far was an educational trip to Nova Scotia in May 2007. The group participated in Gaelic language immersion classes, built up friendships with host families, sang in a milling frollick, visited the Highland Village, took part in a step dancing workshop and sang Gaelic songs at ceilidhs.
We have also been given awards by North Lanarkshire Council and the Scottish Executive to honour our commitment and dedication to the preservation and promotion of the Gaelic language, music and culture.
