About meAbout me
I am an Australian of mixed Celtic descent (Scottish-Irish, Cornish, Welsh, Breton-Norman). My father was Ian McClure Jones. One of my grandmothers was Jessie McClure and her sister (my auntie Rene) was a MacKinnon fostered from Coll - they lived in Whithorn in Galloway originally. My other grandmother Kathleen Tonkyn came from Truro in Cornwall. Her mother had the surname Skewes. One grandfather Nick Jones was of Welsh descent. The other grandfather William Overall was from a long line of Breton-Normans in England post-1066. He trained as a blacksmith in the Clyde area of Alba (Scotland). His mother was Harriet Jackson. My auntie Ione on this side confirms a Scottish connection here too. I sing in a Gaelic choir.
